You can visit the wesites below to obtain useful information on design standards.

When do I need a Onsite Wastewater Treatment System design?
- If your property is not on a public sewer system, you will be in need of an Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) design. Whether you are planning to build a new house on a vacant lot or build an addition to an existing house, the first step in the permitting process is an OWTS design and application to the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management.
- Carrigan Engineering Inc. employs a full time licensed Class 4 Soil Evaluator, whose job it is to determine water table depth, percolation rate, and the best location of the new OWTS. Working with our field survey data for existing conditions and land topography, we can design any type of system from the most conventional system to the most innovative treatment system.
- Carrigan Engineering Inc. is also a State licensed Class 3 Desinger, we can then apply for all the regulatory agency processes including variances with Department of Environmental Management, Coastal Resource Management Council, and local Planning and Zoning Commissions.
